September 2020 Newsletter
Hello, and a super-duper September to you!
Welcome, or welcome back, to my newsletter.
Today's issue is about clarity, and why we may avoid it.
Enjoy!
Are you avoiding clarity?

Self-sabotage is an interesting facet of human nature, and is often easier to spot
in others than in ourselves. Even though you may say you want something in your life
to change, you might not be taking any steps to change your behavior related to it. Wishing
and hoping aren't usually enough to invite in a different result.
|
A favorite teacher of mine is often talking about clarity, and how necessary it is for
moving forward. If your head wants one thing and your heart wants something else, you're in
a tug-of-war with yourself. You're not clear! Rather than fight yourself harder, trying
to suppress one side or the other of the disagreement, let both sides have a voice. Until you
have your head, heart, and gut all aligned with each other, you won't be clear, and any
action you take will be "half-hearted".
|
You may be telling yourself "I should..." about some self-improvement project, or
"My boss/mother/spouse wants me to...." about a career opportunity. If you're doing
it for someone else and aren't excited about it yourself, that's not clarity, especially
if you're trying to convince yourself it's what you want too. I've had pushy managers
and teachers and doctors, and it didn't usually go well when I let their wants override my own.

One of my biggest personal struggles has been around my eyesight. I wore strong eyeglasses very young,
which seemed to get stronger and thicker every year. I desperately wanted to see clearly, and somehow I
came to the conclusion that visual clarity was an elusive prize, which I would only win if I
struggled and tried as hard as I could. I could not understand why some people could see well with
no effort -- what was wrong with me? So I kept trying harder, closing my eyes to practice
memorizing the location of the furniture in the house, since I was afraid I'd be blind someday.
|
It took me many years to understand that intense effort and striving are often counter-productive.
Trying too hard doesn't usually lead to success, just to a headache or some other kind of burnout.
Fear and worry won't get me closer to clarity, only ease and going with the flow will. What if seeing clearly
could be easy? What if that prize you've longed for, whether it be physical healing or an improvement
in your career or relationships, could happen without you having to sacrifice your peace of mind for it?

A central theme of my energy healing trainng is that emotional constriction or blockages precede many
physical problems, and can help to hold them in place, rather than allowing healing. Someone full of
resentment or resistance has built a barrier against the natural flow of Life and growth. One of my vision
teachers used to say the clarity is out there in front of you, it's only in your worried or trying-too-hard
brain where it becomes blurry. Welcome the solutions coming your way. Let it be easy!

I'll write again in a few weeks. Take care!
