July 2016 Newsletter
Hello, and a joyous July to you!
Welcome, or welcome back, to my newsletter. The photo above is from
a break at an energy workshop, where I'm examining some literature
on future events. I don't want to miss anything!
Today's issue has an article on tuning into your feelings for
Let your feelings be your guide
To those of us who pride ourselves on being logical,
letting our feelings guide us might seem like giving up
the steering wheel to a 2-year-old! Yet how many times
have you had a conversation with a friend who was
regretting a decision? He or she will say, "I had a feeling
it was wrong for me, but I let myself be persuaded anyway".
There's an old saying "Decide in haste, repent at leisure".
My EFT teacher (for a short description of EFT, click
helps people get clear on their Yes and their No.
She often says "A Maybe is a No, for now".
Imagine making that choice, moving to that
new area or taking that job or asking that person
out on a date. If you get an uncomfortable sensation,
your feelings may be saying it's not such a good idea!
What if you have conflicting feelings? In EFT we give both sides
a voice, as trying to ignore the dissenter often only makes
him get louder. A few rounds of "Yes, I want to move! No, I
want to stay right here!" will often allow more clarity to
emerge. Then you can make a decision which is in alignment
with your feelings. Or you can see that you need to gather
more information before you decide, so the decision is a wise one.
A word about "Decide in haste". We usually have more time
than we realize to make a decision. Others may try to rush
us to meet their needs, or we may feel a false urgency,
that we'll "miss out" if we don't act right away. Again, if you
feel ease and peace and "all is right with the world" about
making that decision, go ahead! If you're doubtful, take a
little more time to see if your reservations have any validity.
The "last chance" usually isn't, so don't let yourself be
In suggesting you pay attention to your feelings, I am not
saying to ignore your intelligent brain! I think the heart (feelings)
should lead in most cases, with the brain (logic) helping to
carry out the plan. Einstein said "Intuition (feelings!) is
a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honors the servant and has
forgotten the gift". So please take full advantage of your
gift of being an intuitive fully feeling human being. Your life will
will be happier and richer as a result.
