November 2014 Dreamer Sight Newsletter
Hello, and a marvelous November to you!
Welcome, or welcome back, to my newsletter.
The photo above was taken just before an energy medicine class
started. I can see myself eager to learn, and somewhat amused
that so many other students, more extroverted than I am, want
to socialize. What learning is Life bringing you lately?
Today's issue has 2 articles, one about the misunderstood vision
condition of astigmatism, and the other about EFT and why multiple
sessions for a complex issue might be necessary.
Enjoy!
Vision: Can vision therapy help my astigmatism?
|
Many questions about
astigmatism have crossed my desk lately, so I thought it
worthy of some words here. Astigmatism is similar to
nearsightedness or myopia. Yet with astigmatism you'll
be nearsighted in only one angle of your visual field, not
everywhere.
If you have astigmatism, the surface of the front of
your eye, the cornea, is not smoothly curved and
spherical. Tension in your eye muscles has pulled
or pushed your cornea away from a normal healthy shape.
This irregularity can make your view look
warped, like you're seeing through wavy glass, with
straight lines appearing curved.
|
To help heal astigmatism, ask your eye doctor if he or she
can remove or reduce the CYL correction in your eyeglasses.
Every time your eyes look through a strong prescription,
that particular pattern of straining is reinforced and perpetuated.
A simple exercise to help astigmatism is eye circles,
rotating your gaze all around the periphery of your view.
Look as far as you can down, then circle up to your left,
continuing around to look overhead, then right, slowly and
without straining. Pay particular attention to any spots
where your gaze seems to get stuck, or your eyes feel some
soreness. Don't force it, just notice, and let go of
the tension where you can.

EFT: Do I need multiple tapping sessions to clear that event?
|
People may tap on an issue and find it doesn't help much, or
the issue re-appears later. They wrongly conclude EFT doesn't
work, or "wears off". Here is what might be happening. First,
ask if you are fully
focused on the tapping, or just going through the motions.
Tapping while your mind is mostly on something else won't
give much benefit -- you have to be "in it", your attention
on your problem.
Another common beginner's mistake is not being specific enough.
Tapping on "I'm afraid to fly" won't be as helpful as "When the
plane leaves the ground, I feel like nothing is keeping us in
the air, and I am terrified". Also, targeting feelings is
better than targeting an event. Instead of "This knee pain won't
go away", try "I feel so angry (or helpless, or limited, or
frustrated, or ...) with this knee pain!".
|
One last hint: what you think is a single situation may have multiple
aspects, and you may need to tap on several of them to completely
clear it. That auto accident memory might have the sounds of breaking
glass, or anger at the driver who cut you off, or the smell of burning
rubber, or the financial shock of the cost of the repairs, or the pain
of the injuries you suffered tied to it. Often when a problem "comes
back" after you tapped on it, this is probably what's happening --
you tapped on some aspects, but others are still around to
trigger you.
If you're unfamiliar with EFT, you'll find a brief overview
here,
so you can learn more about it.
Would you like your own copy of future newsletters?
If a friend forwarded this to you, or you are reading it from
a post on Facebook, this is a hit-or-miss method of receiving
it -- you might not get it next time. If you'd like to be on my
distribution list, send me a short note
here.

Thanks -- I love connecting with you!
Please send me your questions and comments
Let me know what you've wondered about concerning vision or
dreams or EFT. I'd be glad to write a short article addressing that
very topic. Thanks to those of you who have sent me questions,
or see a question you asked me in a private session written about here.
You're helping many other people!
Enjoy the start of this deep rich month of November.
I'll write again in a week or so. Take care!
